Parametric Study of Equilibrium and Stability Analysis of HT-6M Tokamak in the Presence of Flow

چکیده
It is experimentally observed that tokamak plasmas exhibits macroscopic flow in the toroidal and poloidal directions. Both the flow can considerably change the equilibrium parameters of tokamak. Equilibrium of HT-6M is revisited as a case study and its equilibrium parameters are simulated in the presence of toroidal and poloidal flows with the FLOW Code developed by L. Guazzotto at that University of Rochester (USA). FLOW code was originally designed for spherical tokamaks, which is modified to implement on the circular tokamak. Effect of toroidal and poloidal flow on poloidal flux, current density, particle density, temperature, beta profile, toroidal and poloidal magnetic fields are studied. A comparison is also made for no flow and with different flows. It is found that the plasma is squeezed against the outboard side of the tokamak producing an outward shift (Shafranov shift) because of centrifugal force. The presence of flow also pose problem with the stability of toroidal system. For our analysis of stability we studied effect of different toroidal flows on internal kink modes.

Recent experiments on the spherical tokamak have discovered the conditions to create a powerful plasma and ensure easy shaping and amplification of stability, high bootstrap current and confinement energy. The spherical tours (ST) fusion energy development path is complementary to the tokamak burning plasma experiment such as NSTX and higher toroidal beta regimes and improves the design of a po...

Abstract: This study is carried out to describe the behaviour of vehicles flow on the road, in the presence of blocking effects. A non-linear three dimensional system of ordinary differential equations is used to describe vehicles flow on the road. The study classify total vehicles population on the road into three compartments as Free – Slow – Released vehicles. The formulated model is well-po...

The parametric resonance of the axial vibrations of a cantilever pipe conveying harmonically perturbed two-phase flow is investigated using the method of multiple scale perturbation. The nonlinear coupled and uncoupled planar dynamics of the pipe are examined for a scenario when the axial vibration is parametrically excited by the pulsating frequencies of the two phases conveyed by the pipe. A theoretical study analyzing three-dimensional combustion acoustic instabilities in a liquid propellant rocket engine combustor has been conducted. A linear theory based on Crocco’s pressure sensitive time lag model is used. To apply this theory the combustor is divided into two main components, including the combustion chamber and the converging part of the nozzle. The assumption of concentra...
